Sustainability at Rotherhill

At Rotherhill, Sustainability is at the core of our investment approach from due diligence through to capital expenditure projects and asset management initiatives.

Rotherhill’s primary focus is on existing up and built assets, aligning well with wider objectives of creating
a circular economy and the reduction of embodied carbon in our projects with the avoidance of large-scale demolition and new construction.

Pre-acquisition due diligence for each acquisition incorporates existing environmental performance of an asset as well as considering climate resilience and improvement potential. This approach mitigates environmental risks whilst maximising investment value.

All due diligence and works proposals have a focus on cost effective technical improvements that optimise energy efficiency and generate value.

Sustainability Strategy

Where achievable and viable, we endeavour to undertake capex project works that will satisfy mandatory energy efficiency and performance requirements at the point of acquisition and those set to arise in the foreseeable future. All works are undertaken with
the objective of maximising resilience to rising regulatory, compliance and operational costs.

Examples of sustainability
focused capex works:

Low-carbon heat generation

through the removal of gas boilers and replacement with electric boilers, heat pumps, etc.

Alternative power solutions

(PV / solar, commercial charging and revenue sharing, battery storage).

EV charging facility installation
Insulation improvements

(high rated cladding solutions, windows, doors etc.)

Drainage improvements and flood resilience measures

Through these initiatives, we enhance the quality, performance, and long-term value of the assets we invest in, delivering benefits to both investors and occupiers.
